Treylon Burks is reportedly ready to train at the Titans’ training camp

According to Turron Davenport, Tennessee Titans WR coach Rob Moore said he has no doubt Treylon Burks will be ready to train when the team’s July 27 training camp begins. Burks was unable to train for most of the Titans’ OTAs and mandatory mini-camp in June due to asthma complications. (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: Burks, selected by the Titans in the first round of the NFL draft in April, had a rocky start to his first NFL offseason. Burks joined the Titans with big shoes to fill in as AJ Brown’s de facto replacement after Tennessee Brown traded to the Eagles and picked Burks with a pick they had traded. Ironically, Burk’s most frequent player comp during the pre-draft process was Brown, with both WRs being elite-sized and chasing catch ability for the position. Burk’s asthma issues have prevented him from building up field chemistry with QB Ryan Tannehill up to this point, but it would bode well for Burk’s recast prospects if he were able to attend a full training camp. Burks came from an Arkansas program that fed him the ball through a large number of artificial touches, so he may have a bigger learning curve than usual when it comes to running a full NFL route tree, but his top-notch physical attributes make him a great advantage player.

James White still walks with ‘uncomfortable gait’

According to Mike Reiss, James White “still walked with what seemed like an uncomfortable gait” during a public appearance earlier this week. (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: James White’s 2021 season was cut short after suffering a hip subluxation in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints. Although he underwent successful surgery, it remains unclear when he will be able to return to the field. White is a candidate to start the year on the PUP list and should be avoided by fantasy managers until there is a clear report on its readiness for the 2022 season. White is currently drafted as RB65 in full PPR leagues, in line with FantasyPro’s average draft position.

Mac Jones is confident about the second season

Former first-round draft pick Mac Jones has “made significant progress” heading into 2022, he told NBC Sports Boston’s Phil Perry, per NFL.com’s Michael Baca. One of the main areas of focus for the Patriots quarterback has been being more disciplined with his diet this offseason. Jones’ team-mates have also noted the QB’s increasingly vocal presence on the pitch as a sophomore, saying his leadership skills have gone to “another level”. (Source: Michael Baca of NFL.com)

Fantasy Impact: Mac Jones has had a highly successful rookie campaign, starting all 17 games and ending the season with 3,801 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, 13 interceptions and the second-highest completion percentage (67.56) by a rookie of all time. Jones also led the New England Patriots to a 10-7 record, guiding them back into the postseason. For all of Jones’ success as a rookie, he was primarily a game referee for most of 2021, with just 11.3 percent of his attempts going 20+ yards. With Patriots veterans scheduled to report for training camp on July 26, it will be interesting to see how a more confident, leaner sophomore Mac Jones takes to this offense. Until the Patriots give up their conservative play call, Jones, whose ADP currently stands at 24, is only worth a lineup in Dynasty or two quarterback/super-flex leagues.
