Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have blown up a large militancy module in Jammu and seized a large quantity of weapons and ammunition from members of the module.

He said police also destroyed two modules in Rajouri and Reasi districts. ADGP Singh said that these two modules were created by a militant named Qasim of Mahore Reasi currently operating from Pak with Altaf Hussain and Talib Hussain Shah executed these modules separately with Talib and Altaf from Draj village in Budhal in Rajouri and was arrested.

“This module was assigned three tasks including receiving drone-dropped weapons and smuggling them into Kashmir, IED detonations in Rajouri areas and then siding with Kashmiri militants in Pir Panjal,” ADG Police Jammu Zone said .

He further said that Talib Hussain and “his module members have been implicated in five terror cases so far including two explosions in the areas of Kandi police station, a grenade attack on Shahpur Budhal and the shooting dead of a young man Karamat Shah from Targain a few months ago and tried to murdering a man Ranjit Singh from Draj with a pistol a year and a half ago”.
