The makeup artist and beauty content creator shares exclusive details about finding love, her upcoming wedding and the beauty looks she’s planning for her big day
The fall issue also includes a dedicated section on financial wellbeing, packed with insights and expert advice
NEW YORK-(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Knot – an authority on wedding planning, advice and products – today unveils the Fall 2022 issue of The Knot Magazine, featuring makeup artist and beauty content creator Nikkie de Jager, aka NikkieTutorials , as the star cover. In the fall issue, the YouTube beauty sensation shares details about her relationship with fiancé Dylan, including their proposal history and upcoming wedding plans, as well as tips for married couples on hiring a makeup artist for the big day. The issue also includes financial advice from industry experts to help couples with their wedding planning — from having the financial conversations before marriage to the dos and don’ts of budget prioritization.
Born in the Netherlands, Nikkie de Jager rose to fame in 2015 after her makeup tutorials gained traction on YouTube and quickly became a full-time career. It now serves 13.9 million YouTube subscribers, over 16 million Instagram followers and over 5 million TikTok followers. As a socialite, Nikkie has a track record of overcoming adversity. In 2020, she came out as a trans woman in a video titled “I’m Coming Out” after someone blackmailed her and threatened to publicly embarrass her. Despite initial fears about sharing such personal information with the world, Nikkie leaned on Dylan’s love and support, which she openly describes in the article.
“When I had to click publish on my coming out video, it was a very scary moment because you don’t know what the future will bring. [Dylan] took my hand and looked me in the eye and said, ‘You’re going to publish this. We’ll be fine. You can do this. Whatever happens, happens, but know that we have each other and it will be fine,” Nikkie shared with The Knot. “When he said that, I thought, ‘This man will never leave me, and I will never leave this man.’ I thought, ‘This is my person. He’s mine until the end of time.’”
In the cover story, Nikkie shares more about overcoming obstacles, why celebrating love is so important to her, and how she spreads positivity and inspiration through her voice and platform. She also gives readers a little taste of her beauty look for the big day: “There will be some colour, but I’m also into glam. So think of rhinestones on the face. But I also want to be careful because these images will live on until the end of time – and this makeup has to be perfect. So it’s better to keep it stylish,” Nikkie said.
“We are honored to have NikkieTutorials as the cover star for The Knot Magazine’s Fall issue as she is a testament to authenticity that we hope will inspire many couples,” said Shelley Brown, Senior Beauty and Fashion Editor of the knot Personable and genuinely outspoken, Nikkie shares exclusive details of her love story, hints on what to expect from her wedding glamour, and her tips on choosing a makeup artist for your wedding day. Additionally, the fall issue includes key financial wellness tips and expert insights to give every couple the support they need to plan their special day and financial future.”
