It was Saturday’s Tyreek Hill Show in Miami.

The Miami Dolphins receiver opened practice by addressing fans and previously greeting them at NFL Training Camp 2022 land a flip on the field to cheer them up.

Later in practice, he connected with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on a 65-yard smack for a touchdown that again excited the crowd. Hill followed that up by comparing the Dolphins receivers to Waffle House in an interview with ESPN’s Jeff Darlington because “everyone is open 24 hours a day.”

Elsewhere, a couple of rookie wideouts managed to make their mark. In New Orleans, Saints reporter Katherine Terrell said Chris Olave had the game of the day, connecting with quarterback Jameis Winston on a 60-yard TD in 11-on-11 work with the first unit. According to Jets reporter Rich Cimini, No. 10 overall Garrett Wilson made two outstanding catches on a strong day for New York’s heralded rookie class during practice.

Philly Eagles: Cornerback James Bradberry is making a strong first impression with his new team. Saturday was probably his best training camp session yet as he used his size and physicality to largely lock down receiver AJ Brown, including a pass low down the left touchline that Bradberry severed.

The cornerback trio of Bradberry, Darius Slay and Avonte Maddox looked impressive early on. – Tim McManus

New England Patriots: Quarterback Mac Jones didn’t seem too happy after practice, and instead of mingling on the field with teammates and their families like he’d been doing for the past few days, he quickly retired to the locker room. Saints of New Orleans: Wide receiver Chris Olave had the game of the day for the Saints on Saturday. The Saints first-rounder went wide open low downfield, and quarterback Jameis Winston hit him in the walk for a 60-yard touchdown with the first-team unit in 11-on-11 work. Green Bay packers: The Packers need to find some depth on the outside linebacker, but if Rashan Gary and Preston Smith are playing like they did in the first week of training camp, then defensive coordinator Joe Barry won’t want to take them off the field. Gary was a staple in the backfield, flushing Aaron Rodgers out of the bag on numerous occasions. WR Garrett Wilson (first lap) made two nice catches and CB Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner (first) kept well in cover with the starting defense. Crowd favorite was RB Breece Hall (runner-up): Every time he touched the ball, the crowd yelled, “Breeeeece!” The Jets expect great things from their rookie class. 49ers DT Maurice Hurst needs surgery for a torn bicep

The depth of the San Francisco 49ers’ defensive line will be tested early in training camp after defensive tackle Maurice Hurst tore his biceps in Friday practice and needs surgery, according to coach Kyle Shanahan.

Shanahan said Hurst will “most likely” miss the entire 2022 season.

“We’ll see after the surgery,” Shanahan said. “The biceps usually work like this, but I don’t know exactly.”

Ryan Kerrigan ends an era for Washington football

Ryan Kerrigan prided himself on taking a consistent approach that yielded equally consistent results. But when his left knee prevented him from doing so, he decided the best outcome would be retirement.

Kerrigan announced his retirement on Friday, ending his 11-year career by signing a one-day contract with the Washington Commanders. He played 10 seasons for Washington before signing with the Philadelphia Eagles in the last offseason.
