3 Ways to Share Prime Video Account Without Sharing Amazon History – Gadgets to Use | Hot Mobile Press

Most of us share our Amazon Prime Video accounts with friends and family. However, it comes with a downside that they can see your Amazon purchase history when logged into the shopping app. Here’s how you can share your Prime Video account without sharing your Amazon purchase history with anyone else.

Share Prime Video without sharing Amazon purchase history

There are several ways to share only the Prime Video account and not the Amazon shopping platform with your friends, family or other relatives. You can either manually sign in to the Prime Video app with your account, or sign out of the Amazon Shopping app while leaving your Prime Video login intact. Let’s discuss how to share Prime Video only.

Share Login Only for the Prime Video app

On Android, the Amazon Prime Video app automatically signs you in with the account in the Amazon Shopping app. On iOS, you’ll need to manually log into your account in the Prime Video app. If you have a friend or relative’s phone on your peripheral, you can only share the Prime Video app account (and not the Shopping app) to keep shopping history private, as shown below.

On android

1. Delete the Amazon Shopping app on the phone.

Uninstall Amazon

2. Install the Prime Video app and sign in with your account.

3. Now reinstall the Amazon Shopping app.

4. When signing in, select “Use a different account for this app”.

5. Ask them to sign in to the shopping app account.

On iOS

1. Install the Prime Video app from the App Store.

2. Open and sign in with your account.

3. The Amazon Shopping app will remain unaffected as it will continue to be active with the previously logged in account.

Sign them out of the Amazon Shopping app

Alternatively, if you have shared your login credentials with your friends or family and they log into both ie Amazon Shopping and Prime Video app, you can manually unregister their device from the Amazon Shopping app. This will sign them out of the Amazon app, not Prime Video. Additionally, since you’ve already shared the credentials, you can use two-factor authentication to protect your account from further login attempts. This is how it works:

Activate 2FA in your Amazon account

1. Open the Amazon app (Android, iOS) on your phone.

2. Tap the hamburger menu in the bottom right. Choose Account.

3. Click here Registration & Security under account settings.

4. Click on To edit Next Two-Step Verification (2SV) settings..

5. Click on Receive started. Choose phone number option and enter your mobile number.

6. Beat Continue and follow the on-screen instructions.

You have now successfully set up two-factor authentication on your Amazon account.

Share Amazon Prime credentials

Now you can share your Amazon Prime account email address and password with whoever you want. Ask them to log in to their phone. Once they’re signed in to both Amazon Shopping and Prime Video, you can manually sign them out of the Shopping app, as shown below.

Opt others out of Amazon Shopping while Prime Video continues to work

1. Open the Amazon app and click the profile button below.

2. Choose your account > Content and Devices.

3. Choose Devices from the top menu.

4. On this screen you can see the Amazon apps (including Prime Video and Amazon Shopping) and the number of devices they are currently signed in on.

5. Click on Amazoni.e. the main Amazon shopping app.

6. On this page, look for the friend’s or relative’s phone that has the Amazon app signed in.

7. Click on Sign out under the name of your device.

This will sign them out of the Amazon Shopping app, but your account will remain active in the Prime Video app on their phone. Your friends and family can watch the shows and movies on Prime Video on their phones, but they can’t check your order history or use your Amazon Pay balance. And when they try to log into the shopping app with your Amazon account, two-factor authentication is a barrier. win win right?

If the other party (your friend or relative) has a Smart TV, you can share your Prime Video account without sharing your credentials or purchase history. This is how it works:
